Mind Games

A short film by TY students from Deerpark CBS

Morale is low. It’s half-time and the boys are struggling. Each of the group deals with their doubts in their own unique way. Enter the coach who will provide the motivational speech to inspire the performance of a lifetime. Of course, not all is as it first appears!!

Mind Games is a project with Deerpark CBS students that investigated ideas of wellbeing and the importance of community and support in a school environment. In collaboration with the Glucksman, Transition Year students from Deerpark CBS were guided through the process of making their own short film. The students wrote their own script before acting, filming and editing a finished short. The project was run over a period of two months at the school and in the Glucksman. Students worked with curator Tadhg Crowley to explore the theme and develop ideas before learning filming techniques with artist Dervla Baker.

Students: Sophie Lynch, Aisling Hayles, Una Cremin, Isabelle Hurley, Aisling Dunne, Lauren Fitzgerald, Claudia Garcia, Maria Linehan, Lucy Cambridge, Leah Davenport.

Filmmaker: Dervla Baker

Supported by Sanchia Connolly and Tadhg Crowley
