Torna
A short film by students from Colaiste an Chroi Naofa
In Spring 2021, Colaiste an Chroi Naofa took part in the Art Library initiative from The Glucksman. Artist Fiona Kelly's print Portable Fairy Tree was loaned to the school and students were invited to creatively respond to the artwork and its themes. 2nd year students explored environmental issues and looked at the history and heritage of their local area. The students were interested in how connected we are to nature and its importance on our well-being. An old poem by local poet Torna describes his love for the area and his connection to nature. This poem frames the short film which was made by the students under the guidance of filmmaker Dervla Baker.
