Art Space: Children’s imaginative artworks tour Cork city

Art Space is a Glucksman project designed to amplify the voices of young people experiencing homelessness and to showcase their creativity in the public realm.

In spring 2025, under the guidance of artists Seiko Hayase and Peter Nash, children aged 6–12 supported by Good Shepherd Cork created a large-scale artwork to be exhibited at venues across Cork city. The kinetic sculpture represents a dream world where flying creatures of all kinds live together in harmony among the clouds. Using recycled and low-waste materials, the children produced their colourful creations over a series of Saturdays in the museum.

The artworks were first exhibited at the Glucksman as part of Cruinniú na nÓg, before touring to Cork City Library for the Children’s Book Festival and finally to Marina Market.
