Online workshop that invites you to consider green spaces that you love in Cork and to design your own public park as part of the Freedom of the City project.

This art making workshop invites participants to share ideas about the types of spaces they love to visit. Using paper and card, students will design and construct a public park that screams fun! Join artist Alex Pentek as he guides you through a variety of making processes that will allow children to realise imaginative play spaces.

Alex Pentek is an Irish artist who has been awarded over 30 large-scale public realm sculpture commissions in Ireland, UK, Canada and Australia and most recently in Washington DC, US. His gallery-based practice explores contemporary scientific ideas in temporary mediums such as folded paper. These paper sculptures blur the boundary between engineering, magical tricks, Möbius forms and mathematical constructs.

Freedom of the City is funded by Cork City Council.
