A Decade of Creative Agency: Celebrating the Voices and Views of Refugees and Asylum Seekers
As part of University College Cork's Refugee Week 2026, The Glucksman is delighted to present a billboard exhibition that marks a decade of Creative Agency.
The exhibition which is presented on the the Western Road in Cork city includes a selection of images that highlight events and projects that have taken place over the past ten years through Creative Agency, the museum’s ongoing programme that empowers asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants to participate in imaginative projects that present their voices and views in the public realm and celebrate the vital contributions of participants, artists, community support workers, and UCC students and staff. The exhibition will remain on display until Sunday February 15.
The 2026 Creative Agency project, Cultural Threads, will launch in mid-March as part of the St Patrick’s Festival. The project brings together a group of teenagers from The Lodge in Clonakilty with UCC Fáilte Refugees Society and local artists to explore ways of communicating elements of their cultural heritage. Visitors are invited to join us at the Glucksman in March to celebrate the work of these young creatives.
