Ancient Worlds
Young people reimagine Ireland's geological past
Ancient Worlds is an exhibition presenting the artworks of 2,521 primary and post-primary students who visited The Glucksman throughout winter 2025 and spring 2026 and creatively responded to learning about Ireland’s Mesozoic Era.
Students participated in guided tours of the exhibition Domain of the Dinosaurs before undertaking creative activities developed in partnership with researchers at UCC’s School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences. These activities enabled them to imagine what Ireland looked like 200 million years ago.
Dinosaur footprints, ammonites, prehistoric insects, and ancient landscapes are among the subjects explored by the participating young people using clay, watercolour, graphite, and markers.
The exhibition will run in Gallery 1 at The Glucksman until Sunday, 26 April.
