Vanessa Donoso Lopez

Join artists from GRAFT our citywide collaboration with the National Sculpture Factory.

For Graft, Vanessa Donoso López has produced a series of over 100 kiln-fired clay ‘manuports’ - stone-like ceramics embedded with intricate designs and patterns. The term denotes an object that has been carried from one location to another. In her display of these works along North Mall and Wandesforth Quay, Donoso López has clustered the objects so that they will be viewable from the river's edge. Over the course of Graft, the works will be intermittently submerged, partially visible through the water, as well as occupying embankments and outcroppings of land.

This conversation will explore the genesis of this work in the context of the artist's wider practice.
