Opening Hours

The GLUCKSMAN Little Interview

Each week we ask the same set of questions to a different member of our community. Throughout 2015, we interviewed diverse members of the Glucksman community - artists, academics, staff members, guests, audiences and workshop participants. The responses were funny, inspiring, revealing and always a great read. The archive of 2015's interviews can be found here. Thanks to all who took part!

This week we hear from Luise Ebner, a German student finishing up a month's work placement with our technical and information desk staff team.

Sherman Alexie's novel 'The absolutely true diary of a part-time Indian', whichI have already read a few times as it was a topic in our English lessons at school andI chose it as a main topic for my oral A-level exam in English.

Favourite museum?
Frankincenes Freilandmuseum – open air museum in Bad Windsheim, Germany. I like the way of presenting not just ancient items locked up but delivering a real feeling and experience.

What is your most treasured possession?
I love my own car whereI feel more secure than at home – it's a mini cooper, that I always dreamed of.

What work(s) of art inspire you?
I especially like works withparadoxical elements, ironic / interesting / unexpected combinations.

A lightbulb moment?
That Guiness is actually popular in Dublin, in Cork people prefer Beamish and Murphys.

Guilty pleasure?
Dark chocolate.

What would you like to be doing right now?
Travellingthe world, but not tourist areas which are very famous and crowded, but small interesting places nobody thinks about because they cover more magic than typical tourist attractions.
